Al Gordon is a Senior Learning Architect with over 27 years of experience, Al is well-versed in instructional design, curriculum development, training project management, change management, business process documentation, technical writing, and AI Implementation.
PROFILE
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with major business organizations and consulting firms, consistently delivering high-quality work products. He possesses extensive expertise in working with subject matter experts (SMEs) in analyzing, designing, and implementing training projects. He has also worked on eight Oracle and SAP ERP projects and has a strong background in sales training, change management, and training project management.Al holds an EdS (PhD-level) degree in Adult Learning Theory, Instructional Design & Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds an MBA from Florida International University and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Additionally, he has studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida.Currently, Al serves as a Senior Learning Architect at MARTA, providing content development services in instructional design, training development and delivery, technical documentation, and Oracle end-user training development.Previously, he held the position of Director of Training & Documentation at Oversight Systems, where he developed sales and technical content and managed customer and employee training. Al also worked as a Senior Instructional Designer at Cox Enterprises, where he designed web-based training for an Oracle 12 financial implementation.Prior to that, Al served as a Senior Instructional Designer, Technical Writer, and Change Management Lead at The Home Depot, contributing to the design and development of ILT and WBT courses for an SAP retail implementation. He also worked on a separate project at Home Depot Supply, developing training courses and technical documentation for various SAP modules. He was a Senior Instructional Designer and Technical Writer contracted by IBM to support an Oracle project at a large transportation organization.He also worked at Cisco Systems as a Senior Instructional Designer and Global Program Manager, leading curriculum development and implementation for the Customer Service organization. Additionally, Al served as an eLearning Manager, responsible for developing online learning programs for systems engineers at the IOS Technologies Division.Earlier in his career, Al worked at Siemens as a Training Manager for the Siemens Virtual University. In this role, he designed and managed synchronous and blended distance learning programs for Account Managers and Systems Engineers, focusing on Siemens voice products and services as well as Cisco data communications products and services.Al has expertise in various tools and software, including Acrobat Connect, Articulate, Audacity, Camtasia Studio & SnagIt, Captivate, WebEx, Dreamweaver, FrameMaker, Help & Manual, Lectora, MS Project, MS Office & Visio, Oracle UPK & Tutor, Photoshop, RoboDemo, RoboHelp, and RWD InfoPak.As a writer, editor, and publisher, Al has contributed to the book "The Live E-Learning Cookbook: Recipes for Success."
